Spinning Purples

Ah.....I love the packets of hand-dyed grey Finn wool that I got from my SP13 Secret Pal. The purple colorway is lovely with the grey undertones. And I do dearly love Finn!

I've finished spinning the first two packets - mostly blue toned with a hint of purple. I made a lovely two-ply skein (top skein) I didn't quite get it equally divided, so I had a bit of the single ply left, so I plied it with some grey single ply that I had on my bobbin. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out - the mini-skein is so cute! And I love how the purple-blue "pops" against the grey ply.

Now, I've started spinning the purple packets. I plan to two-ply them as well. If I have any leftover singles of purple, I'll ply it with a bit more of the grey as well. Then I'll have the challenge of finding the perfect project. I definitely need something that will show off the depth and subtle variety of color!

You have spun beautiful yarn. I found wool from this site (only in Finnish) http://utuna.fi/ and I think that wool is from this farm http://www.laurilan.net/laurila/
