Checking Out the Lansing Yarn Shops

Just a quick note about what I'm up to.....details and pictures later.....

I'm checking out some of the yarnshops I missed in May when I was out here.

I've found a fabulous yarn shop in Lansing....Rae's Yarn Boutique and had a wonderful afternoon there. The owner designed this month's "Six Socks Knit Along" sock....it's really cute! (Elizabeth.....I think you participate in that....and I mentioned your username, and she thinks she remembers you....small world, eh?) Her store has a great variety of yarn and even some rovings....including her own hand-dyed. She's only been open since April this year. Many thanks to Chris for mentioning the shop!

Tomorrow, I'm off to ThreadBear (my poor daughter will be soooooo bored!).........and then HOPEFULLY back home in time to go to Knit Knutz!

Let's finish with a bit-o-fun:

Thanks to my friend Elizabeth, I couldn't resist this quiz - try it and see what type of accent you have! . I've always had a rather "confused" accent......Midwest vs. New York. In both places, they "accuse" me of having the accent from the other. Looks like I'm a bit more like Illinois.....(Mine does change......when I'm in NY, it's more of a Northeast accent....but with subtle undertones of an Illinois/midwest accent!)

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Inland North

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

Philadelphia

The Northeast

The Midland

Rae was my swap partner for either one skein or maybe it was the dye-a-long. Tell me all about Threadbear, I mail order from there all the time. Matt and Rob would probably even recognize the name Nicol from Las Vegas (if I would have known you were going I would have sent you my $20 gift cert they sent me)

Wow! What a small world! I'll be sure to tell Matt and Rob you said "Hi"! Rae is so nice! I really had a fabulous time! I'm so glad I went. I know that I'll have fun at ThreadBear as well.

Oh, Lyonheart! I don't know what I'd do if I lived far from good yarn stores!
