Happy Mother's Day!
.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Mother's Day! Happy Mother's Day to all my fellow mothers. Whether you're the mom of human kids or furry kids...it's your day to celebrate!I received beautiful flowers from both my DD and my DH. They're just beautiful!
DH also gave me a cute little German sheep pin and a fabulous book that I've been lusting after. The book is only available through a couple of vendors. It covers a lot of Norwegian Knitting history and is written entirely in Norwegian. It's an absolutely beautiful book! (Thanks to "Google Translate", I'll be able to decipher the wording as needed!)
As my gift to myself, I taught myself how to make cording with the lucet. The lucet is so smooth and feels so good in the hand. I'm quite pleased with how my cording is turning out! It's quite easy and I should be able to make DH's grandmother some awesome shoe strings once I've practiced a little more. (That's part of why I really wanted to learn how to use the lucet - she needs rather short tan shoe strings...and we can't find them at any of the stores!)
I also treated myself to some knitting time. I'm now about half way done with the baby blanket that I'm making out of the two-ply Shropshire baby yarn I bought from Solitude last weekend. I just love knitting "Feather and Fan" - it's such an easy stitch, yet it looks so elegant!
